The Graphic Novel History of the Universe

Inspired, as the title no doubt suggests, by the works of Larry Gonick, I’ve set out to expand upon his work.

While by no means a wholly reliable means of learning the world’s history, this list provides a sampler of graphic novels that retell historical events, arranged in more or less chronological order. It includes some biographical pieces, but mostly avoids autobiography. Likewise, it includes a number of fictionalised histories, but avoids historical fiction.
