For the second time in a week, a day with no events enshrined in Rock ‘n’ Roll History.
I mean, really, come on, people – Edgar Allan Poe was born today, as was Cezanne, and even Dolly bloody Parton.
There’s really nothing you can think of to write a song about?
If this keeps up, I’m going to have to come up with some better way of filling these unmusical days than berating composers for their laxity…
Apparently not. Apparently, January 14 has been such a dull, dull day in the span of human history that there was no recorded event that any musician has judged worthy of a song…
On the other hand, given how many of the events that have been appearing in this column have been war or death related, maybe that’s a good thing. In any case, sorry folks, but this is all the entry in The Rock ‘n’ Roll History of the World that there is for today.
Normal service will be resumed tomorrow.
