Oh, and you can relax about Frank. He has no idea.

That was lovely |
It seems to me that we never did get to the conversation last night…
But I forgive you. I had a lovely time, and I’m sure you did too. Sorry I have to go so soon.

Re: Tonight |
No big plans, no. Just a quiet night in. I was thinking of cooking for you, but since I hadn’t got around to deciding what to make yet, let alone buying the ingredients, that’s no big deal.
Wake me if you get in at a reasonable hour.

Tonight |
Honey, I’m sorry to pull this on you, but Corny’s just dumped a load of work on me, and I’m probably going to be pulling an all-nighter. You didn’t have anything big planned for tonight did you?

Re: [4] Frank |
Sounds good to me. I’ve got plans, but nothing I can’t cancel. And I do want to have a very serious conversation tonight, Cornelius. I’m touched by the gesture, but not so touched that I’ve forgotten why you made it.

Re: [3] Frank |
Look, I’ve got a million and one things to do right now, so I really can’t get into this. But what do you say about us going out tonight? I’ll get us a nice room at the new five star, and we can dine and talk in comfort, and not have to worry about anything else for a while.
I know it’s short notice, but it’s the best compromise I’ve got right now. I really don’t want to get into this when I’ve got a day of putting out work-related fires ahead of me already, and you know how seeing you always relaxes me.

Re: Re: Re: Frank |
What consequences? You keep telling me you’re going to leave that bitch anyway. But every time I ask you when, you tell me that it’ll be when the time is right. Maybe I should have asked you this a long time ago, but I want you to tell me, here and now: what will it take for the time to be “right”?

I hope you’re right. I don’t like to think about the consequences if you’re not.

Hailey, are you sure he doesn’t know about us? Not that I doubt your word at all, it’s just that it has recently come to my attention that he’s smarter than I previously thought him, and I want to be sure.
