There seems to have been some sort of communication failure, sir. Mr, ah, Peet, says that he was not informed that I would be joining him, and that he doesn’t wish to work with an assistant. He seems most upset. I am unsure of how to proceed in this situation. What are your instructions, sir?

Gerrit, We’ve hired an outside consultant to get to the bottom of claims by Hall Biotique that we didn’t fulfil our contract. I’m assigning you to the contractor, Peet. You’ll technically be under him for the duraction, but you report to me. While I don’t think there’s anything to this, I want you to keep your eyes open, and let me know soonest if you do find anything. To be absolutely clear: you are not to impede the investigation in any way. Your role is to do what Peet tells you, and report back to me if there is a need. Andersen

Gerrit, it’s important to me that you understand just exactly how much weight you have to throw around here. Because outside of the Dristeen project, you have no weight whatsoever. You’re a hydrogen balloon on the wind. Everything is currently progressing according to schedule, and until and unless things go otherwise, you have no call to get involved.
