That the internal investigation we agreed upon into Kliest-Hargraeves’ last project for you commences today. The project will be headed up by Peet, whose integrity is a byword in our industry as you know. Thank you for agreeing to this as an alternative to a drawn-out legal process which would only tie up resources for both our companies. C. Andersen
Look, I’ve got a million and one things to do right now, so I really can’t get into this. But what do you say about us going out tonight? I’ll get us a nice room at the new five star, and we can dine and talk in comfort, and not have to worry about anything else for a while. I know it’s short notice, but it’s the best compromise I’ve got right now. I really don’t want to get into this when I’ve got a day of putting out work-related fires ahead of me already, and you know how seeing you always relaxes me.
What consequences? You keep telling me you’re going to leave that bitch anyway. But every time I ask you when, you tell me that it’ll be when the time is right. Maybe I should have asked you this a long time ago, but I want you to tell me, here and now: what will it take for the time to be “right”?
There seems to have been some sort of communication failure, sir. Mr, ah, Peet, says that he was not informed that I would be joining him, and that he doesn’t wish to work with an assistant. He seems most upset. I am unsure of how to proceed in this situation. What are your instructions, sir? |
