Calynthia Powder is a bright purple colour. As a powder, it can be mixed into liquids and ingested, such as water or blood.
The drug is presumably magical in nature, and is used to affect the dreams of the person being fed it – usually without their knowledge. The drug makes the user more suggestible, especially when in a dream state, allowing anyone present while the user is dreaming to plant suggestions in their mind – while full control is not possible, it can be used to manipulate the person.
A person under the influence of Calynthia Powder will sleep more deeply, which makes the manipulation easier, as they will not wake when they otherwise would. Repeated doses will upset the sleep cycle of the user, making them sleep longer, dream less and awake less refreshed.

Carvati’s Cure was created by Dr Carvati of Gehenna, as its name suggests. It is a combination od drug and gene rewrite specifically designed to cure the La’Heng people of the deleterious effects of the RC-12 drug that made them slaves on a genetic level generations earlier.
Although named Carvati’s Cure, the initial research on the drug was carried out by Dr Solaith, and Carvati himself noted that without the genetic records of the Makers (the ancient and apparently long-dead alien race who created the jump point network that allows sppedy interstellar travel), it would have been impossible to complete. The effectiveness of the drug can be seen in that its introduction to La’Heng led directly to a revolution on that world, culminating in the La’Heng people kicking out the other races that had oppressed them and declaring themselves an independent polity.

Castran’s Binder is a purgative that is administered in some cases of heavy metal poisoning, particularly those where cadmium or closely related substances are the poisons.
As the name suggests, it is a binding agent, working on a molecular level to capture molecules of the heavy metal and carry them out of the body by the normal processes of elimination. It is known to be safe to administer to humans and Shorshians.

Originally developed by Banner Value Drug and Vitamin Laboratories, Inc. as a cure for nerve damage, intended to stimulate the growth of damaged nerves, Cerebrocreatine was a failure in that goal, but worked very well in enhancing the development of neural pathways in the brain. Unfortunately, the side effect of these little yellow pills tended to be a fascination with knowledge for its own sake, a penchant for grandiose experimentation and marked tendency towards pednatry.
Cerebrocreatine is one of the few drugs in history to have had its own antidote – marketed as Super-Aktion – developed by the same company that created it, although like Cerebrocreatine, the antidote too was also too strong…

A highly expensive and addictive drug, Cernadine provides a hit that temporarily creates sensations of emotional lassitude and heightened confidence. It is taken as a mild stimulant and euphoric. Unfortunately, the symptoms of coming down include heightened anxiety and lowered self-esteem, which tends to quickly get the user on a treadmill of taking the drug.
While it is legal (at least on the planet Aurore), Cernadine is a dangerous substance to all but the strongest willed. Even with the assistance of a God, overcoming addiction to it is far from easy.
Designed for the treatment of Alzheimers, Clarity is a product of Judge Pharmaceuticals. Early animal trials found that it increased cognitive function in rats, but due to the need for secrecy, finding human subjects to test it on proved more difficult.
However the drug’s commercial viability – as a potential cure for Alzheimers, Judge stood to make millions, if not billions – was such that the history of Clarity is one of literal backstabbing – the race for to take credit for it in the company led to murder on more than one occasion.
Communion is a bitter-tasting powder that causes the user to experience ecstatic union with their god or gods. Usually taken by mixing into tea (generally with a lot of sugar), Communion is particularly popular with the devotees of Karla Sommers living on Al Amarja.
The drug is all-encompassing, affected all five senses. Users often come back from their trips with missions – often vaguely-defined – from their deities. The objective reality of the experience of Communion is a hotly-debated topic in theological and pharmacological circles.
The drug itself is made from the glands of dead glugs, the secretive original species of humans who hide in our midst – although most glugs would be horrified if they knew the drug’s origins, and would almost certainly kill those of their number who are responsible for its creation.
Related Drugs: Blue Shock, MDA-Cubed, Nightmare, Relapse, Slo-Mo, Wings and Zorro.
Communion is a deeply sinister drug, and all the more so for being legal. In a future of ecological catastrophe and over-population, that government has sanctioned mass suicides. They even provide the drug for them, at no charge: Communion.
The drug has two parts: a neurotoxin absorbed through your saliva, and a muscle relaxant that kicks in more slowly, killing you softly and painlessly.
Unless, of course, your mouth is dry from the excitement of your impending end, in which case the neurotoxin won’t work and the muscle relaxant will, killing you, but only after a minute or so of anguish in which time you are fully conscious but unable to move.
A drug that grants superpowers, Compound V was first developed by Dr Hans Vogelbaum in the thirties in Nazi Germany. He fled to America where he continued his research, attracting the corporate sponsorship of Vought-American, who used it to create the first actual superteam in the later days of World War Two. Over the years, many variants of Compound V have been created by Vogelbaum or others following on from him (including one version created by the Nazis working from the fragmented notes he left behind).
Compound V gives each person who takes it different powers, although the CIA team known as the Boys use a highly stable variant with predictable powers (strength, toughness, healing and delayed aging). The only real pattern observable is that the earlier in life the dose is taken, the stronger the powers tend to be – and since Compound V is mutagenic at a genetic level, its effects are also inheritable.
Unfortunately for almost everyone involved, Compound V was created in a world where power, almost without exception, corrupts – and super-power even moreso.
Created by Dr Michael Grant, a Washington DC based scientist, the original purposes of Cortexin was lost to history – along with its creator and all his notes – when a nuclear war broke out. Grant’s test animals, who had been injected with the drug, escaped in the course of the devastation that followed.
It was at this point that what was presumably an unintended side effect, the animals dosed with Cortexin proved to been altered on a genetic level. Over the course of several generations, they developed greater intelligence, bipedal locomotion, hands with opposable thumbs, and even the power of speech.
A variety of species were used by Grant in his experiments, including apes, bats, dogs, gophers, leopards, lions, pumas, rats, sloths, tigers and wolves. The wide range of species, and the fact that each of them had a large enough population to be able to breed viably, along with the location of Grant’s researches, strongly suggests that his experiments were funded by the Pentagon.
NB: there is no known connection between this Cortexin and the real world drug of the same name.
Strongly implied to the ambrosia of the gods, the liquid supplied by Hebe to the Olympians that kept them immortal and deific, Cupbearer’s Elixir is an alchemical preparation whose formula is a closely guarded secret.
Despite its general associations, it is not actually a healing elixir. Rather, it halts the changes of the body, retarding injury, disease and healing to an equal degree. While it is often used to halt the spread of incurable diseases, such as leprosy, it can also be used to prevent scars from healing, should one be so inclined.

A cyberdrug, that is, one used only by robots and other cybernetic organisms, each Darkshot is in fact part of the body of the entity variously known as the Hell Ditch Pilgrim or Andy Soames.
One of the most potent drugs ever known, each Darkshot is a small captured quantity of Dark Energy – the very virtual particles that bind galazxies and timelines together. Taking it allows machine consciouness to access – or at least view – the root controls of the universe in some fashion.
Perhaps fortunately, Darkshots are no longer produced, as the entity that it derives from has now mutated into a more benign form.

A pale green pill with a potent effect, De-Tox is a product of Banner Value Drug and Vitamin Laboratories, Inc. The recommended dosage of De-Tox is three pills each day at most, and its intended purpose is to counteract the harmful mental effects of pretty much any other drug in existence.
De-Tox does exactly what it says it will, an effect it acheives by stimulating the parts of the brain concerned with logical and critical thought. But a very short time after it came on the market, it was a best-selling drug everywhere and almost every user was exceeding the dosage. This had an unexpected side-effect – over-stimulation of the brain caused it largely shut down after a while, which led to precisely the opposite effects as usual. Fortunately, after a well-publicised scandal involving serious De-Tox addicts, the drug lost popularity and Banner Value Drug and Vitamin Laboratories, Inc. quietly withdrew it from the market.
